The Growth Center Charity Golf Tournament exists to drive awareness, advocacy, and action around mental health, Substance prevention, suicide awareness and emotional wellness in our communities. Through this spirited and inclusive event, we raise vital funds to support culturally responsive mental health education, youth leadership programs, and trauma-informed healing initiatives. Our mission is to unite partners, professionals, and everyday champions on the green—so together, we can grow stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities for generations to come.
The Mental Health Education Group is a powerful and transformative space designed to meet young people where they are—emotionally, developmentally, and culturally. Tailored to the unique mental health needs of youth across the Greater Sacramento area, this group helps participants build a foundational understanding of mental health, self-love, and emotional resilience in a way that’s real, relatable, and empowering.
Through guided discussions, interactive activities, and storytelling, youth are invited into a process of self-discovery and healing on their own terms. They learn how to recognize signs of mental and emotional distress, understand the value of emotional wellness, and identify what healthy support and relationships should look like in their lives.
Participants explore:
This group isn’t about labels—it’s about liberation. It’s about giving young people tools to understand themselves, reduce stigma, and walk a path toward healing with dignity and support. Many youth have described this group as life-changing, with participants reporting improved confidence, clarity, and a renewed sense of hope.
Our Mental Health Education Group creates a culturally safe, affirming environment where every voice is heard, every story matters, and every step forward is celebrated.
Our Mindful Decisions Small Group is a weekly healing circle that creates a safe, empowering space for youth and young adults ages 12–26 to explore emotional wellness, build healthy decision-making skills, and connect with positive peers and trusted mentors.
Each session gently incorporates substance use prevention and suicide prevention, helping youth understand the deep connection between emotional regulation and long-term well-being. We take intentional time to explore the consequences of unaddressed emotional pain, isolation, and poor coping strategies—while offering healthy alternatives that build confidence, resilience, and hope.
Through engaging discussion, mindfulness practices, creative expression, and personal reflection, participants learn how to navigate stress, anxiety, and conflict with tools that support mental clarity and self-control. Sessions also feature guest speakers with lived experiences, who share powerful, real-life stories of overcoming mental health and substance use challenges—offering both inspiration and connection.
By combining evidence-based strategies with culturally responsive support, Mindful Decisions helps young people reclaim their voice, strengthen their self-worth, and stay connected to life-affirming choices.
Our 1 & 3 day Mental Wellness Retreats are transformative experiences intentionally designed to offer young people a pause from daily pressures and a safe space to reflect, recharge, and reconnect. Held in calming, nature-based or wellness-focused environments, these retreats immerse participants in a trauma-informed, healing-centered setting where emotional safety and self-discovery take center stage.
Youth are guided through activities like mindfulness practices, yoga, expressive arts, journaling, and psychoeducational workshops that explore identity, emotional regulation, and healthy coping strategies.
These retreats allow young people to explore their inner world in a supportive, judgment-free space while cultivating community and mutual support. Whether for one day or an extended weekend, participants walk away with a deeper understanding of themselves, strengthened emotional resilience, and tools to support their mental wellness journey beyond the retreat.
Our Women & Girls Summit is a powerful, heart-centered gathering that center the emotional and psychological needs of women and girls from all backgrounds. These summits are more than just events—they are intentional healing spaces where stories are shared, identities are affirmed, and collective strength is built.
Each summit is curated to include engaging keynote speakers, interactive wellness workshops, creative healing modalities (such as poetry, dance, or visual art), and real conversations about trauma, self-worth, mental health stigma, and societal pressures. Participants leave with access to culturally responsive resources, strengthened self-advocacy skills, and a renewed sense of empowerment. Whether someone is navigating their healing journey or simply seeking connection and inspiration, these summits offer a community of support, sisterhood, and resilience. They are especially impactful for girls and women who have never had the opportunity to openly explore mental health in a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment.
Our Mental Wellness Pop-Up Family Events are vibrant, community-rooted experiences designed to bring families together around joy, healing, and mental health awareness. These events take place in neighborhoods and public spaces where families live, work, and play—breaking down barriers to access and removing stigma around mental health conversations.
Each pop-up features music, games, food, art-making, and interactive wellness booths, alongside access to local mental health providers, peer support networks, and culturally grounded resources. Families can participate in everything from mini mindfulness workshops and parent-child activities to storytelling sessions and mental health check-ins—all in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
These events foster open dialogue among generations, promote early intervention, and equip parents and youth with tools for emotional wellness. By meeting the community where they are, we spark healing, connection, and awareness in ways that are joyful, empowering, and deeply needed.
Soundhealing, yoga, dynamic panel, free food and admission. Youth, Parents and educators had a blast!
